Bravo, E. Jean Carroll!

We were told that the generals in Trump’s cabinet would be effective guardrails. They weren’t. They were impotent to stop him. We were told Robert Mueller would hold him accountable. He deflected to Attorney General Robert Barr, who gave Trump cover.

We’ve heard for a long time that it takes a woman to clean up the House. Yep. Nancy Pelosi and Liz Cheney were a formidable duo with the January 6 committee.

They had the expertise and integrity to showcase for the American people the corruption within the Trump administration via the eyes of his closest allies.

Cassidy Hutchinson was their star witness. She had the integrity and courage that her boss, Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and other men in the Trump Administration lacked. Meanwhile, Attorney General Merrick Garland lacked the spine to timely appoint a special counsel until the January 6 committee left him no choice. We had great hopes for Special Counsel Jack Smith, who fell prey to the slow-moving wheels of justice.

Nikki Haley was reluctant to take off her velvet gloves until Donald Trump demonstrated his failing mental acuity in New Hampshire. She bragged about being able to take on the “fellas.” I have a strong hunch that Trump sexually harassed her. He bragged that he could do it and get away with it, and I seriously doubt he can recall all the women he has sexually assaulted. They were just notches on his bed posts.

But, this wasn’t her first time at the proverbial rodeo.

Privately I’ve opined for years that a survivor of violence against women wouldn’t have any problem dealing with a narcisstic abuser like Trump. We had to learn this skill to survive and thrive. We’ve grown the balls that too many men sadly lack. We have a spine. We have integrity. We have courage. And, fellas, we’re done with your shit.

This afternoon E. Jean Carroll won a $83.3 million judgment against Trump for sexually assaulting her and lying about it. He claimed they never met, she wasn’t his type, and confused a photo of her with his former wife Marla Maples. Busted! A jury held him liable for sexual assault and defamation and awarded Ms. Carroll with $5 million in damages last September. Two juries weren’t buying what Trump was trying to sell. He’s finally being held accountable, and it took a woman to do it.

Bravo, E. Jean Carroll! Bravo!
