Recipe: Curried Cheese Spread with Chutney

Chutney Cheese Spread with crackers

This simple yet elegant recipe harkens back to the snob-central days of the Junior League in Chicago circa 1974.  It is one of my favorites and one of very few that people ask me to repeat.  It was created by Mrs. John W. (Mary Nolan) Bradbury.

Enjoy!

The Junior League of Chicago’s 1974 cookbook.

6 oz. cream cheese

8 oz. grated sharp cheddar cheese (or Kukuana cheese)

3T sherry

1/2t curry powder

1/4t seasoned salt

10 oz. chutney

1/4C minced scallions (or more to taste)

Mix all ingredients except chutney and onions with an electric mixer.

Spread in a shallow dish and chill until firm.

Before serving, spread chutney over cheese mixture and cover with green onions.

Note:  Serve with your favorite crackers.  Be sure to allow the cheese mixture to chill and get happy before you add the chutney and onions.

  1. Sounds yummy.

You doing so much now, mini Oprah. Good to see your posts every once in awhile.

Thank you again Anne for trying to help back in 2009. Time flew by. This election exposed a history of our broken system. No matter the party of choice, our rights were not a part of either. But I’m watching as the Kraken has taken flight.

You remind me of Ms. Powell. Take that as a great compliment.

Some things in life dont get fixed over night. Especially with dirty politics and lawyers connected to people like the Epsteins and Les Wexners of the world. But times are changing. The policy of truth always comes back to the top.

I look forward to Brooklyn being set free. At 21, she should’ve been driving, going to college, etc. I still dont know where she’s at. Just who has her.

Oh how the world will change. And Dr Fauci was right. We are never going back to normal again. Just a new normal. He’s just wrong on what new normal means.

    Have a beautiful Thanksgiving Draco.

    Many blessings,
