Kari works as a radiology technician for a trauma hospital here in Seattle. She has a facial deformity which caused a cruise ship auditioner to refuse to listen to her sing. Big mistake, buddy! Huge mistake!
The audience was absolutely mesmerized when she belted out “Somewhere” from West Side Story. Goose bumps. Chills.
We all have tough days and challenges. But, Kari reminds us to hold on to our dreams. She took the risk to see if her dreams might come true and received a standing ovation from the crowd as well as the judges.
Talent instantly recognizes genius.
Eat your heart out, Mr. Cruise Director!

This was one of the most moving things I have seen on TV in some time. It made me cry, which is hard to do.
If there goal was to pull at my heart strings it works. I hope she goes far.

It was the look on her face when the judges and the audience gave her a standing ovation that absolutely did me in.
There’s some amazing talent this year, but I think she’s going all the way ~ in the top five for certain. You and your family are going to have a summer you’ll never forget!
