RIP, Ken Schram: Seattle’s Champion for Preventing Violence Against Women

Ken Schram

I’ve always been a grumpy old bastard.
I’ve been one fortunate sonofabitch.
– Ken Schram

Seattle lost a legend this afternoon.  Ken Schram was a news commentator for KOMO, Seattle’s ABC affiliate.  He was also the most passionate champion for protecting women from domestic violence that I have ever met.  His colleagues at KOMO said it best:

He liked stirring up the pot, raising a little hell with a little thing called honesty.

Maybe we need more of that.

Yes, we do.  We also need more men who deeply love and respect the women in their lives:

His wife Sandi was at his side night and day since he fell ill. Ken told her every day of their 44 years together that she was the love of his life.

Mr. Schram will be deeply missed.  My condolences to his family at home and at KOMO.
