Beatbullying: Prince William & Kate Middleman’s Choice for the Royal Wedding’s Charitable Gift Fund

How cool is this?  Prince William and Catherine Middleton have created a Charitable Gift Fund for donations in lieu of gifts from royal wedding guests.  One of their five causes is “Children Fulfilling Their Potential:”

Children can often be affected by circumstances beyond their control.  These charities help young people overcome adversity and fulfil their potential in life.

Beatbullying is one of the five charities in this category:

Beatbullying is a children’s charity, working with young people to create a world where bullying, violence and harassment are unacceptable.

Beatbullying provides intensive therapeutic intervention to young people and their families – supporting those being bullied, as well as working with those who bully to help change their behaviour.

  • Beatbullying runs bullying prevention programmes, on and offline, in schools and communities, empowering young people to understand, recognise, and say no to bullying, violence and harassment.
  • Beatbullying’s work is proven to reduce incidents of bullying, and CyberMentors, the world’s first online peer mentoring website, provides support to any young person affected by bullying.
  • Beatbullying campaigns in the areas of bullying and child on child violence, enabling young people to transform their lives and the lives of their peers for the better.

Kate Middleton Is a Bullying Survivor

International media rocked today with the news that Miss Middleton experienced bullying while she was a 13-year-old student at Downe House.  The Herald Sun reported she was bullied for being “too perfect” and a “nonentity:”

The beauty, 29, who will marry Prince William later this month, was regarded as a “nonentity” by tormentors who turned her life at the 30,000 pound-a-year girls’ boarding school into a tear-filled nightmare.

Their spiteful attacks on the future princess demonstrated shocking cruelty – and prompted Kate to choose Beatbullying as one of the charities her wedding guests will be invited to support.

Her parents transferred her to Marlborough College in Wiltshire where she thrived.

Miss Middleton will wed Prince William on April 29.
