Although I’ve been looking forward to the celebration of One Billion Rising for JUSTICE since May, my health isn’t going to permit me to join in Seattle’s celebrations this year. So, I’m sharing the photos that I took at Seattle’s first One Billion Rising in 2013.
We had a wonderful crowd at Westlake Center. I’m very disappointed so many photos of the fun we all had didn’t turn out well.
I loved this eccentric woman with her umbrella. She had a blast and cheerfully posed for photos all night.
We were so excited that young men joined the celebration.
Hope these two handsome guys are getting sweet love this year.
We were blessed to shake it up with the belly dancers.
Seattle’s own Raging Grannies, who sing for social change, were my favorite entertainers.
Couples came together and had a blast.
If I recall correctly, these folks came in on the ferry from the Kitsap Peninsula.
As the evening drew to a close, I met these beautiful women.
I am so profoundly grateful that all these folks allowed me to take their photos and capture the joy we all experienced. One Billion Rising was celebrated in every country on the planet by over one billion people.
